The American Judges Association recently held our Annual Conference in San Francisco. I, along with several local and Ohio Judges, joined United States and Canadian judicial colleagues from all types of limited and general jurisdiction courts for this educational conference.
Of course, the most asked question upon my return was, “Did you have a good time?” The answer was, “Yes!” San Francisco is a beautiful lady with a rich history, diverse culture and interesting people. More importantly, it was a time to share experiences with other judges and participate in an outstanding educational program.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Judicial Independence” and consisted of nationally recognized speakers, panel discussions, and a video taping of “Inside the Law”, a PBS program to be nationally-aired in April, 2005. I was honored to be a member of the panel format moderated by Jack Ford, previously with ABC News, Good Morning America, 20/20 and the former NBC Today Show Weekend Host and Legal Correspondent.
Highlighting the Conference were two sessions of interest to both the Bench and the Bar.
